The Virginia Dance Awards Voting Committee is comprised of some of the state's most qualified dance professionals.  This small, hand selected group spans a wide range of dance platforms; University of Richmond Arts Program, Virginia Commonwealth University Dance Program, dance company directors, established choreographers, and veteran professional dancers.

Once the public has finished casting their votes for nominees, the Voting Committee will review all nominations within each category and select the official 2023 Virginia Dance Awards nominees based on those public nominations.

The Voting Committee will meet together a second time to review the official nominees and any corresponding video footage of each. They will then select the 2023 recipient for each category separately and anonymously.
